About this Course
A Class 5 license involves a Heavy Combination Vehicle with a Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of more than 25,000 Kg.

Course Prerequisites
A valid New Zealand Class 5 Learner License is required for enrollment in this course. We provide a class 5 learner license preparation course if you need help getting your class 5 learner’s license.

Course Outline
Theory Course
Day 1 (In-classroom Theory):
Unit Standard 24089- Demonstrate the information of fatigue management, work time, and driver logbook necessities.
Day 2 (In-classroom Theory):
Unit standard 17577- Run a rigid vehicle to meet the requirements for a full class 4 driver licence.
Practical Course
Class 5 Practical Training and Assessment:
1.5 hour practical training session.
1.5 hour practical assessment.

Any additional practical training or re-assessment sessions are subject to additional fees; for more information, please contact our office.
Practical drives are scheduled over 2 additional distinct days, are NOT pre-booked, must be scheduled by calling our office number, and are contingent upon the availability of the trainer and the vehicle. Unless other arrangements have been made with our senior office staff, Haryana Driving Academy will serve as the location for all Class 5 Practical sessions.
You will receive a NZ Transport Agency certificate upon successful completion of your training program. You must present this certificate to any NZTA-approved Driver Licensing Agency (AA or VTNZ) to have your license upgraded to a Full Class 5 Licence without the need for additional testing. Your NZQA Records of Learning will be acknowledged with both unit standards (US 24089 & US 17577).
Until your Full Class5 has been uploaded to your driver license, you are NOT authorized to drive without a supervisor on public roads.
